Fully Vaccinated Crew Shirt Distribution Continues!
As a thank you for doing your part to protect yourself, your loved ones and the community, we are giving out Vaccination Crew shirts to students who show proof they are fully vaccinated. Shirts will be distributed at the SAC during the dates and times below, while supplies last. Make sure you bring your vaccination card or a photo of your card to get your shirt!

ENGAGE: Earning Trust in Gene Editing Student Professional Development Event
Consumers are asking questions about gene editing. Are you prepared to respond? Join the Center for Food Integrity and the Ohio Soybean Council (OSC) for a FREE educational session on Thursday, November 11th from 9:00-12:30 in the Wooster Science Building classroom 175A that will help you communicate about gene-editing in a relatable way that resonates with the general public. The tips and tools you will learn during this 3-hour, interactive session can also be utilized for other topics that you are likely to encounter as a representative of modern agriculture.
CFI has conducted similar workshops all over the country for a wide variety of audiences. OSC is bringing this training to The Ohio State University at no cost to you.

Student Wellness Center - November Updates
Brownie in a Bowl – Virtual Cooking Demo (students only)
Join the Student Wellness Center's Registered Dietitian for a virtual cooking demo to make a 'Brownie in a Bowl' on Wednesday, November 10 from 7:00-7:30pm. Ingredients include flour, cocoa, vanilla, salt, sugar, sugar substitute, olive oil and mixed berries. Ingredients and supplies will be available for registered students to pick-up in the Student Wellness Center (B130 RPAC) the week of the demo (November 8-10) between 9am-9pm. The Wellness Coaching Program within the Student Life Student Wellness Center is now offering group services! These include drop-in Wellness Workshops and Group Meditation sessions. The Student Life Student Wellness Center has scheduled three interactive workshops throughout Fall semester for our faculty, staff and Graduate and Professional Students to gain knowledge related to supporting students’ holistic well-being, management of stress and substance use, and preparing participants to host difficult conversations and refer others to on-campus resources. Individuals can register to attend our Guiding Students to Wellness workshop to learn skills such as active listening, motivational interviewing, and hosting difficult conversations with our student community. Our Recovery Ally Training is designed to train attendees in becoming a Recovery Ally to support our students who are in or seeking recovery from substance misuse. COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic: Schedule your Appointment Today!
We are pleased to be able to give you access to appointments for the Pfizer vaccine clinic that will be held onsite at the Student Activities Center (SAC). To help minimize waiting, there are a limited number of appointments available for each time slot. Vaccine Clinics will be November 10th with a 2nd dose clinic scheduled for December 1st from approximately 9:00am – 1:00pm. The information to sign up can be found below.
There will also be a 15-30 minute observation period required onsite after receiving the vaccine. The entire process should take no longer than 30 – 60 minutes.
What to bring:
- Must bring an ID or Driver’s license and a copy of your insurance card.
- In addition to the information filled out online, there are two forms required by the hospital for vaccination. You will be able to fill them out onsite.
REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS:
- Visit: https://gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov/ and complete the COVID-19 Vaccination Questionnaire.
- Begin filling out questions as prompted
- Enter Access code: B4CR7N1PCP (All caps)
- Search “Wooster, Ohio” for location
- Select “Hidden-Wooster Community Hospital” by clicking on “see all availability”
- Select appointment time and enter your demographic information as prompted
- You will receive an immediate confirmation via text and/or email. Save this and bring it with you to your appointment.
- Your second appointment will be scheduled for you when you arrive for your first vaccine. It will automatically be scheduled for 3 weeks after your 1st vaccine at the same time.
- If you are seeking a booster dose of vaccine, please follow the prompts on the “get the shot” website to indicate you are signing up for a booster dose (in this case a 2nd appointment will not be needed)
*Note: There will be limited walk-in slots available. If you choose to walk-in, please anticipate a wait in order to receive your vaccine.

Wooster Campus Arts & Crafts Fair - Friday December 3rd
Friday December 3rd marks the return of the Wooster Campus Arts & Crafts Fair! Registration to participate is FREE for student organizations. The Fair also provides a great opportunity for student clubs to fundraise! This event is open to the public and will follow university mask protocols.
All proceeds from vendor registration will support Student Leadership Council events! Past events include the Student Org Trivia Night!

Wooster Science Cafe: The Science of Yoga
The Wooster Science Café was established to provide a forum in the Wooster community for dialog between the public and scientists about contemporary topics.
The next café will be Tuesday November 9th, from 7-8pm. It will be on The Science of Yoga and will be presented by Bhakti Mamtora, Emily Mariola, and Susan Lehman.

- The café will be in person in the Excelsior Room event space on the second floor of Spoon Market and Deli, 144 W Liberty Street, Wooster.
- We will be requiring masks except while eating or drinking
- We will be arranging the chairs so that people can sit physically distanced
- There will be light appetizers provided and you can buy food and drink and bring it upstairs
- There is an elevator to get upstairs in case you would like to use it

OSU Waterman Dairy Farm
Internships/Job Positions for OSU Students:
The Ohio State Waterman Dairy is looking for OSU students who are interested in employment and/or a paid internship for 2022.
The OSU Waterman Dairy milks 100 registered Jerseys and raises approximately 165 replacement heifers. The farm facilitates research, provides tours to a wide range of audiences, and allows for hands on college course experiences.
Free on farm housing can be provided to students who demonstrate good knowledge and work ethic. These students are held to a higher level of accountability and take on the role of student managers.
Besides general dairy chores (milking, feeding, & calf care) other opportunities can be tailored to fit internship requirements or employee interests. Students are responsible for 2 or 3 chores a week (3:45am/pm until approx. 7:00am/pm) and every other weekend. Work hours are flexible outside of chore shifts and the farm is located within a mile of campus to allow a convenient commute between or after classes.
Work experience can be gained in the following on farm practices:

Heifer/Calf Management
Pasture Management
Equipment Maintenance
Parlor Maintenance
