  5. Become an OWL!!!

    OWL Image

The Office of Student Life – Residence Life at Ohio State ATI is now searching for fun and friendly faces to join our next parliament of OWLs, or Ohio State Welcome Leaders.

OWLs are an essential part of the move-in process at Ohio State's residential campuses. 25 OWLs (primarily first-year students) are needed to return to campus early and help welcome their peers.  Additionally, 4 returning students will be selected for street coordinator roles.

    WHY BECOME AN OWL?

    •             Meet new friends

    •             Move in before the rush

    •             Develop a stronger connection to campus

    •             Expand your leadership skills

    RESPONSIBILITY:

OWLs will arrive to campus early (dates to be announced). During training, you’ll learn more about your duties and relevant responsibilities. As an OWL, you’ll build a sense of community, familiarize yourself with campus before your peers arrive, and have fun while doing it. In the past, OWLs have greeted families and helped remove personal belongings from vehicles. While muscle is encouraged, it’s definitely not required. NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the feasibility of the 2020 OWL Program, as well as specific roles have yet to be determined.

The OWL application is available for a limited time to any incoming or current Ohio State ATI student who will live on campus in Applewood Village for Autumn 2020 semester (with the exception of Resident Advisors, Housing Office Assistants, or Peer Leaders with prior commitments).

APPLY ONLINE HERE before Wednesday, July 15 at 5:00 pm. You will be notified of your participation by the end of July or early August. For questions, please contact OWL Program Coordinators, Mick Steiner or Caitlin Blake at ati_housing@osu.edu or the ATI Housing Office at (330) 287-7504.

And as the OWLs say, HOOTIE HOOT!

    Mick Steiner, Housing Coordinator

    Caitlin Blake, Apartments Manager
