Hazing Prevention Training - VIRTUAL
This is an important moment in our state’s and university’s commitment to eradicating any form of hazing in educational institutions across Ohio. Collin’s Law, Ohio’s Anti Hazing Act, which went into effect at the beginning of October enacted a number of important requirements and changes, all to end hazing and interrupt contributing factors that have enabled the persistence of hazing in the past.
Hazing Prevention Training for Students
A component of the law is required education for all students before they join a student group. As we continue to promote a culture of care this is an important step in preventing hazing. There will be multiple hazing prevention trainings open to all students to fulfill this requirement before joining a student group. This training will cover definitions of hazing, awareness, prevention, intervention, and reporting. This training is open to all students and is strongly recommended even if they are already part of a group.
Tues., Jan. 25th | 7 pm |Virtual
Tues., Feb. 8th | 7 pm | Virtual
Thurs., Feb. 24 | 7 pm | Virtual
Contact holava.1 if your organization would like to set-up a training for your next meeting!
To create a community free of hazing, we must first report hazing when we experience it, see it or suspect it. It is imperative that everyone with knowledge of hazing reports it. Ohio State students and registered student organizations are required to report hazing as the failure to prevent, intervene or report acts of hazing may also be considered acts of hazing.
You may have additional reporting obligations under Ohio law. Specifically, Collin's Law: The Ohio Anti-Hazing Act Sec. 2903.311 (B).
If you are a university employee and have questions about your reporting obligations under Ohio law, please contact the Office of Legal Affairs at 614-292-0611.
If you are a student and have questions about your reporting obligations under Ohio law, please contact Student Legal Services at 614-247-5853.
Go to go.osu.edu/reporthazing for information and instructions on how to report hazing to the university and to law enforcement.
- If anyone is experiencing harm or is in imminent danger, please call 9-1-1.
- For on-campus reports, call OSUPD at 614-292-2121.
- To report off-campus behavior call Wooster police at 330-287-5702 (non-emergency number)
- Read the new law in its entirety on the Ohio Legislature website
- Read The Inter-University Council of Presidents Anti-Hazing Principles

Hi, my name is Abigail Gregg and I am from Zanesville, Ohio. I am majoring in Biology and later plan to transfer to main campus to pursue a career in veterinarian medicine. As a tutor in the Learning Lab I am prepared to help with many different courses. However, I would consider math and biology courses to be my specialties, as well as proofreading and making grammatical suggestions with essays. I am available to provide assistance through zoom or face to face meetings. College can definitely be a stressful time but whatever your concern, I am here to help!
