Student Assembly and Trainings in January

Happy New Year! We are excited about Spring Semester and your return to campus as the new year gets underway!  To get us started on the right foot and share some updates, two student assemblies will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, with time slots at 1:50-2:50pm or 4:10-5:10pm.  Attendance is mandatory, so please indicate which session will work with your schedule, using the link below.  You only need to attend one of the assemblies. Both sessions will be held in Shisler Ballroom, and reminders will be emailed as we get closer to the date.

In addition to the student assembly sessions, two important trainings will be offered in the later half of January.  Faculty and staff will participate in similar trainings to make for a safer and more caring campus.  You will have an opportunity to learn ways to keep yourself and others around you safe if a situation presents itself.  In addition, you will gain information and resources to be better prepared to assist individuals experiencing distress.  Information you obtain from these trainings will benefit you personally and professionally.  Make sure to include these trainings on your resume under professional development.

  • Sgt. Chad Stanton, OSUPD, will facilitate a Run/Hide/Fight Training
  • Ruth Montz, Program Manager Disability Services, will present Assisting Distressed Individuals
  • Dr. Schaad, Embedded Clinical Psychologist, can provide information and resources for students

Please let us know if you can attend one or both trainings through the link below, and more information will be sent out as the date gets closer.
